Journal Content
Journal of Fungus includes scientific publications consisting of original research and review articles. Except for editorial studies, all published articles are published after double-blind peer review.

Purpose and Content
The aim of the journal is to contribute to the field of mycology by publishing quality research and review articles of scientific importance. For this purpose, original research articles, reviews and editorials are published in all fields related to basic or extended application in mycology sciences. Journal of Fungus is an independent, double-blind, peer-reviewed, open access and online journal aiming to publish articles in all areas of mycology. Articles must contain original data that has not been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts deemed suitable for the submission conditions of the Journal of Fungus and the content of the journal are sent for scientific evaluation to at least two reviewers who are experts in their fields. The comments of the reviewers are taken into account. The final decision for all submitted manuscripts rests with the Editor-in-Chief. The Editor-in-Chief and other editors of the Journal of Fungus undertake to comply with the criteria of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Article Submissions
Submitted articles must be in accordance with the purpose and scope of the Journal of Fungus. Manuscripts that are original, unpublished and not in the process of evaluation in another journal, whose content and submission have been approved by the author(s) are accepted for evaluation.

Readership
The target readership of the Journal of Fungus; professionals, experts, researchers, specialists and doctoral students also undergraduate students are related to mycology and related fields.

Wage Policy
The publication of articles and the execution of article processes in the Journal of Fungus are free of charge. No underline processing fees or submission and subscription fees are charged for articles submitted or accepted for publication. The Journal of Fungus does not accept sponsorship and advertisement due to its publication policies. All possible expenses of The Journal of Fungus are covered by Selçuk University Rectorate.

Copyright
The copyrights of the articles published in The Journal of Fungus belong to their authors. The authors allow the studies which they sent to be published by The Journal of Fungus under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

Originality of Articles
The Journal of Fungus does not accept studies which previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere.

PRINCIPLES OF ARTICLES
THE JOURNAL OF FUNGUS (e-ISSN 2147 6845) is published by SELÇUK UNIVERSITY MYCOLOGICAL APPLICATION RESEARCH CENTER. The journal, which is a peer-reviewed journal, publishes original research and review articles. The journal includes national or international research of results with respect to the field of mycology.
Journal articles submitted for publication, after deciding for the eligibility in terms of issues to be published in the journal by the editors, articles will be sent to relevant expertise in the field of scientific referees for evaluation. Editorial Board decides whether it can be published or not in accordance with the referees decides and suggestions. Galley Proof of the articles which is accepted for the publication is sent to the authors then final inspection is done. The language of the journal is in Turkish and English.

The Journal of Fungus is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
• Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
• Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
• Licensees may copy, distribute, display and perform the work and make derivative works and remixes based on it only if they give the author or licensor the credits (attribution) in the manner specified by these.

The author should upload the article as a word file to the system.
To start the process of the Articles as soon as possible; “Signed Copyright Notice Text” and “Final Control Form” should be uploaded to the system as an additional file in color.
Author and order changes are only processed before the article is accepted. Authors should carefully review the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscripts and finalize the list of authors at the time of original submission.
The account of the corresponding author of the study should be used in the applications. All correspondence regarding the application is forwarded to the responsible author via e-mail sent through the journal system.
When uploading the article file, make sure that it does not contain any elements that would reveal the identity of the author due to the double-blind peer-review process.

4. Copyright and intellectual property rights of the author(s) or employer(s) of the author(s), if any, are reserved. The author(s) undertake(s) that the publisher is not responsible for any claims or lawsuits to be filed by third parties due to copyright infringement, and that all responsibility belongs to them.
5. The author(s) undertake(s) that there is no criminal or illegal statement in the article, and that no illegal materials and methods are used while conducting the research.

ARTICLE WRITING RULES
The article should be written in A4 size, 1 cm margins, 1.15 spacing, arial font, 10 points, in accordance with the template, in Word 2003 or higher version program. Automatic numbering should not be used in the word file of the article. Sections of the article should be respectively like this:

In the Cover Page template: Turkish Title, Authors (the responsible author must be specified) and their addresses, Emails, Orcid numbers, Abstract, Keywords, English Title, Abstract, Key words.
In the Article Text template: Turkish Title, Abstract, Keywords, English Title, Abstract, Key words, Introduction, Material and Method, Results, Discussion, Author Contributions, Conflict of Interest, Acknowledgments, References.

For Article in English
In the Cover Page template: English Title, authors (responsible author must be specified) and their addresses, Emails, Orcid numbers, Abstract and Key words, Turkish Title, Abstract and Keywords
In the Article Text template: English Title, Abstract and Key words, Turkish Title, Abstract and Keywords, Introduction, Material and Method, Results, Discussion, Author contributions, Conflict of Interest, References.
The same titles (except for material and method) should be used in Review Articles. Results and Discussion titles can be given under a single title.
If necessary, authors may use sub-titles. The title of each section should be written in bold and the initial letters should be written big on title. All the scientific names should be italicized in the text, if it takes part in the title should be both bold and italic. Genus and species names must first be supplied with the authors in their place. Then other place names should be used only species names. Should be a blank line between sections.
Title: Title of Turkish articles should be 14 points. English title should be 12 points. Initial letters and surname of the author's must be greater. Address should be written under the name of the author. E-mail address of corresponding author must be given. Academic qualifications are not included in the article.
Key words: Should consist of 4-10 words.
Introduction: Research topic as much as possible should be short and concise. The aim of the study should also be indicated.
References: References in the text must be written in parentheses (name, date). References section should be written as 10 points in alphabetical order. Names of books, articles and announcements initial letters should be big. The first letters of the names of the book, the article and the published submition should be written in large. Master's theses are not shown as a reference. References should be written in APA style in the following order (from 2019).

Tables and figures: All images (photographs, drawings, graphs, maps, etc..) should be named as figure. All figures and tables should be numbered consecutively in the text. The sizes of tables and figures 14×20 cm should not be greater than. Figures must be original. Photos must be at least 600 dpi resolution or must be scanned. Figures must be separate from the main article "jpeg" should be sent to the file. Figure name should be written under figure and should be 10 points. Table name should be written on top of the table and should be 10 points.
The articles are sent online at "https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/mantar". Unspecified subjects must comply with scientific rules.

While establishing the ethical duties and responsibilities below, it has been prepared by considering the guidelines and policies published as open access.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting studies to the Journal of Fungus are expected to comply with the following ethical responsibilities:
• The publication processes implemented in Journal of Fungus are the basis for the development and distribution of information in an impartial and respectful manner. The processes implemented in this direction are directly reflected in the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support the authors. Peer-reviewed studies are studies that embody and support the scientific method. At this point, it is important that all stakeholders of the process (authors, readers and researchers, publisher, reviwers and editors) comply with the standards for ethical principles.
All stakeholders are expected to bear the following ethical responsibilities within the scope of the publication ethics of the Journal of Fungus.
• The works submitted by the authors are expected to be original. Authors are required to cite and/or cite completely and accurately if they benefit from or use other works.
• Persons who do not contribute to the content intellectually in the creation of the work should not be specified as authors.
• All studies submitted for publication should specify the situations and relationships that may constitute a conflict of interest, if any.
• Raw data can be requested from the authors within the framework of the evaluation processes, in such a case the authors should be ready to submit the expected data and information to the editorial board.
• Authors must have a document showing that they have the right to use the data used, the necessary permissions for research/analysis, or the consent of the experimental subjects.
• If the authors realize an error or mistake regarding their published, early appearance or evaluation work, they have an obligation to cooperate with the editor in informing, correcting or withdrawing the journal editor or publisher.
• Authors cannot have their work in the application process of more than one journal at the same time. Each application can be started following the completion of the previous application. A study published in another journal cannot be sent to the Journal of Fungus.
• Changing the author responsibilities of a work whose evaluation process has begun (such as adding an author, changing the order of authors, removing an author) cannot be proposed.

Ethical Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
The Journal of Fungus editors and field editors should have the following ethical duties and responsibilities based on the "and " guidelines published by open access:

General duties and responsibilities
The editors are responsible for every publication published in the Journal of Fungus. In the context of this responsibility, editors have the following roles and responsibilities:
• Strive to meet the information needs of readers and writers,
• Continuously working for the development of the journal,
• Taking part in processes to improve the quality of studies published in the journal,
• Supporting freedom of thought,
• Continuing working processes without compromising intellectual property rights and ethical standards
• Demonstrating openness and transparency in terms of publication in matters that require correction and explanation.

Relations with the reader
Editors should make decisions by considering the knowledge, skills and experience expectations of all readers, researchers and practitioners. Care should be taken to ensure that the published studies contribute to the reader, researcher, practitioner and scientific literature and are original. In addition, editors are obliged to consider the feedback from readers, researchers and practitioners, and to provide explanatory and informative feedback.

Relations with authors
The duties and responsibilities of the editors to the authors are as follows:
• Editors should make a positive or negative decision based on the importance, original value, validity, clarity of the narrative, and the journal's goals and objectives.
• As long as there are no serious problems, studies that are suitable for the scope of publication should be included in the preliminary evaluation stage.
•Editors should not ignore positive referee suggestions unless there is a significant problem with the study.
•New editors should not change the decisions made by previous editors for studies unless there is a significant problem.
• "Blind Refereeing and Evaluation Process" must be published and the editors must prevent deviations that may occur in the defined processes.
• Authors should be informed and returned in an explanatory and informative way.

Relations with reviewers
The duties and responsibilities of the editors towards the reviewers are as follows:
•The reviewers should be determined in accordance with the subject of the study.
• It is responsible for providing the information and guides that the reviewers will need during the evaluation phase.
• It has to look into whether there is a conflict of interest between the authors and the eviewers.
• In the context of blind refereeing, the identity of the reviewers should be kept confidential.
• It should encourage reviewers to evaluate the work in an impartial, scientific and objective language.
• It should determine practices and policies that increase the performance of reviewers.
• Necessary attempts should be made to dynamically update the reviewer pool.
•It should prevent rude and unscientific evaluations.
•Work should be done to ensure that the reviewer pool consists of a wide range.

Relations with the editorial board
Editors should ensure that all editorial board (central board) members develop processes in accordance with editorial policies and guidelines. The editorial board should inform its members about the publication policies and keep them informed of the developments.
In addition, editors;
• It should ensure that the members of the editorial board evaluate the issues that need to be evaluated impartially and independently.
•Meetings should be held with the editorial board at regular intervals for the development of publication policies and the journal.

Relations with the journal owner and publisher
The relationship between the editors and the publisher is based on the principle of editorial independence. All decisions taken by the editors are independent of the publisher and the journal owner.

Editorial and blind peer review processes
Editors; is obliged to implement the "Blind Refereeing and Evaluation Process" policies included in the journal's publication policies. In this context, the editors ensure that the fair, impartial and timely evaluation process of each work is completed.

Quality assurance
Editors; is responsible for publishing every article published in the journal in accordance with journal publication policies and international standards.

Protection of personal data
Editors; is obliged to ensure the protection of personal data regarding the subjects or images included in the evaluated studies. Unless the explicit consent of the individuals used in the studies is documented, they are responsible for refusing the study. In addition, editors; The author is responsible for protecting the individual data of the reviewers and readers.

Ethics committee, human and animal rights
Editors; It is responsible for ensuring the protection of human and animal rights in the evaluated studies. Ethics committee approval for the subjects used in the studies is responsible for refusing the study in the absence of permission for experimental research.

Precaution against possible misconduct
Editors; is obliged to take precautions against possible abuse and misconduct. It is among the responsibilities of the editor to share the relevant findings, as well as to conduct a rigorous and objective investigation regarding the identification and evaluation of complaints regarding this situation.

Ensuring academic publication integrity
Editors should ensure that judgments containing errors, inconsistencies or misdirection in studies are promptly corrected.

Protection of intellectual property rights
Editors; It is obliged to protect the intellectual property rights of all published articles and to defend the rights of the journal and authors in case of possible violations. In addition, the editors are obliged to take the necessary measures so that the contents of all published articles do not violate the intellectual property rights of other publications.

Plagiarism Prevention Control
• Presenting the ideas, methods, data, practices, writings, figures or works of others as their own work, in whole or in part, without attribution in accordance with scientific rules.
• Journal of Fungus scans all submitted articles to prevent plagiarism. The studies submitted for review are checked for plagiarism using Turnitin & Ithenticate software. The similarity rate is expected to be less than 30%. The main measure of similarity is the author's compliance with the citation and citation rules. Even though the similarity rate is 1%, if the citation and citation are not duly made, plagiarism may still be in question. In this respect, the citation and citation rules in the field should be known and carefully applied by the author.
• Plagiarism, duplication, false authorship/denied authorship, research/data fabrication, article slicing, slicing, copyright infringement and concealment of conflict of interest are considered unethical behaviors. All articles that do not comply with accepted ethical standards are removed from the publication. This includes articles with possible irregularities and inconsistencies detected after publication.

Publication of Studies Based on Survey and Interview
Journal of Fungus adopts the principles of the Editorial Ethics Committee (COPE) "Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors" and "Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers" in order to create ethical assurance in scientific periodicals. In this context, the following points should be followed in the studies submitted to the journal:
*For research in all branches of science that requires ethics committee approval (ethics committee approval should be obtained, this approval should be stated and documented in the article.
*In research that requires ethics committee permission, information about the permission (name of the committee, date and number) in the method section, and also on one of the first/last pages of the article; In case reports, information about signing the informed consent/consent form should be included in the article.

Constructivism and openness to discussion

Editors;
It should take into account the persuasive criticisms of the works published in the journal and should adopt a constructive attitude towards these criticisms.
Authors of critiqued works should be given the right of reply.
They should not ignore or exclude studies with negative results.

Complaints
Editor-in-Chief or Editorial board (central board); The author is obliged to carefully examine the complaints from the reviewers or readers and respond in an enlightening and explanatory manner.

Political and Commercial Concerns
The journal owner, publisher and no other political or commercial factors affect the editors' independent decision making.

Conflicts of interest
Editors; It guarantees the independent and impartial completion of the publication process of the studies, taking into account the conflicts of interest between the authors, reviewers and other editors.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
Evaluation of all studies with "Blind Refereeing" directly affects the quality of the publication. This process provides confidence through an objective and independent evaluation of the publication. The Journal of Fungus evaluation process is carried out with the principle of double-blind refereeing. Reviewers cannot directly communicate with authors, evaluations and comments are submitted through the journal management system. In this process, reviewer comments on evaluation forms and full texts are sent to the authors through the editor. In this context, it is expected that the reviewers evaluating the work for the Journal of Fungus have the following ethical responsibilities:
•Only work related to the field of expertise should accept evaluation.
• It should make an evaluation with impartiality and confidentiality.
• If he thinks that he is facing a conflict of interest during the evaluation process, he should refuse to review the study and inform the journal editor.
• In accordance with the principle of confidentiality, they should destroy the studies they have examined after the evaluation process. They can only use the final versions of the studies they have reviewed after they are published.
• Should make the evaluation objectively only in relation to the content of the study. Nationality, gender, religious beliefs, political beliefs and commercial concerns should not be allowed to influence the evaluation.
• Make the assessment in a constructive and courteous language. Do not make derogatory personal comments that include hostility, slander and insults.
• They should perform the work they accept to evaluate in a timely manner and with the above ethical responsibilities.

Publisher's Ethical Responsibilities
The Journal of Fungus Editors and Editorial Board act with the awareness of the following ethical responsibilities:
• The editors are responsible for all processes of the studies submitted to the Journal of Fungus. In this context, the decision makers are the editors, regardless of economic or political gains.
•Commits to create an independent editorial decision.
• It protects the property and copyright of every article published in the Journal of Fungus and undertakes to keep a record of every published copy.
• It has the responsibility to take precautions against all kinds of scientific abuse, citation fraud and plagiarism regarding the editors.

The works submitted to our journals are first judged grammatically. After this phase, articles are sent two reviewers. If necessary, the third reviewer is assessed. In the publication of works, a decision is made by evaluating the level of contribution to science and readers within the criteria specified in the writing rules. Reviewers are requested to submit their assessments within 30 days at the latest. The reviewers' evaluations and the answers to these evaluations are reviewed by the editor and it is decided whether the work will be published or not.
